Purpose & editorial approach

Understanding,
not just information.

noobquestions is an independent technology learning library maintained by Kelvin Ling. It brings together original explanations, imported technical writing, and small interactive teaching models.

Why use this instead of asking a chatbot?

A chat can explain a term. Here you can hold a model in front of you, change one input, compare the result, and challenge your first prediction. The same controls and stated limits make an example inspectable and repeatable.

The map connects ideas across lessons. Scenario practice asks you to use an idea in a new situation. The problem solver turns vague symptoms into a few safer observations. These tools are deliberately small; they are not a claim to replace an instructor, an administrator, or professional advice.

Who made the material?

The library preserves the original attribution of migrated WordPress and Medium writing. New lessons identify noobquestions Editorial and disclose AI assistance. Examples, text, references, code, and interaction behavior are checked before release. An AI-generated draft is not automatically published.

Kelvin’s original Medium profile provides a separate publication source. The publication and reader activity record distinguishes availability from evidence of actual use.

What is a model—and what is a real calculation?

The browser-local SHA-256 example calculates a real fingerprint for text. The DNS story, notebook roles, network ceiling, pretend recovery copy, and other scenarios are simplified teaching models. Captions identify illustrations instead of presenting them as product screenshots. No demo inspects a real account or changes your system.

Accuracy, versions, and corrections

Dates are in each resource’s expandable “About this resource” section, not used as a news feed. Original publication dates stay intact. A technical walkthrough can reflect an older software version, even when a nearby concept exercise is new. Check the linked official documentation before a real operational change.

Use a lesson’s reader discussion for a constructive correction or question. Do not disclose personal information, private URLs, passwords, or workplace data. For a privacy request, contact [email protected].

Privacy & limits

Learning choices stay in tab memory, with no learner account, saved score, or certificate. Existing article-load counters and spam-protected discussions are separate. Read the privacy policy for their storage and measurement limits. Traffic counters are not proof of unique human readership, independent impact, or immigration eligibility.
